Who says she's too young to enjoy some tech time?

We think that the best thing for kids on a job sometimes is to plant them firmly in front of the computer screen. Really, we do. The reason why? Lately there's been a rash of fun and educational kids games that have hit the market, and we like them! The kids will too.

If you're looking for games or sites that you can plug the kids into with a clear conscience, check out some of the best.

Yahooligans.com

With categories including games, music, science, movies, jokes, TV and news, you can find something on this site for every age level. Be sure to check out the Ask Earl section, where you can ask all sorts of unusual questions and get weird answers right back!

Games.funschool.com
This fun site allows you to browse grades and a game guide. With such hits as Fall Fever (catch and count leaves,) Type Me (rescue falling letter by typing them in time,) and Animal Homes (drag cute animals into their right homes,) you can have hours of fun. Best of all, game access is free.

PBSkids.org
Everything from Arthur to Barney to Clifford is on this site, and you can access books, music, coloring and more online. Check out Arthur's Tower of Cows, and the Zoom! Section with unusual science experiments.

Kidscom.com
With sections like games, chat, adventure and cool stuff, you can find enough to keep kids entertained for hours. Check out the plant babies section, which allows you to sprout and care for a virtual plant.

AJkids.com
This site has an awesome array of knowledge, and works just like the AskJeeves that we all know, but adds a twist for kids. Interested children can access many topics including astronomy, science, geography, English and maths, as well as ask random questions and play games. The site also allows you to peek at what kids are asking around the world at any time, and the questions range from funny to just bizarre.

Nationalgeographic.com/kids
This site is an extension of the National Geographic magazine, and has some fascinating stuff! Favorites include the cartoon factory, where you can add dialog to pre-made cartoons, the activities and experiments page, complete with an Egyptian tomb model, and Creature Features (don't miss the vampire bats.)

Kids.msfc.nasa.gov
This site is NASA's answer for all kids that want to know more about the universe. You can visit the Teacher's Corner, play connect the stars to make a constellation, or see pictures that kids have drawn of various space entities.

TheMint.org
This site is a fantastic way to help teach kids about finance - in a super cool, fun way. It has tons of financial tips for kids to make the most of their money, including an interactive Try It section with several different games/quizzes that show the outcome of the kids' various decisions.
