PostSecret: Babysitting Confession
There can be some pretty sordid confessions that make their way over to PostSecret. Sure, a few secrets are silly and fun, but the anonymity over there makes everyone a lot more comfortable revealing their innermost secrets in all their shameful, intimate glory. So imagine our surprise when we found a babysitting-related confession among all of the juicy submissions.
Here’s what we found:
Not what you were expecting, right? What an uplifting confession!

That’s really sweet. We often wonder what other people think of our kids when we’re not around…

I may feel a little uncomfortable with my child’s image posted on the internet- it maybe anonymous but the kid is identifiable. I think that may make me nervous…

The babysitter probably asked for permission before posting. I know I would. And that is soo how I feel about the child I watch. ^_^

Now there is someone who truley loves thier job! You want a sitter who enjoys your children and where it dosen’t feel like work to them because that means that they (you children and the sitter) must be having a good time. This makes me so happy seeing this, the sad thing is that to many sitters nowdays just do this for the money. Way to go sittercity!

Those are always the best positions, where the pay is a nice perk, but you love the kiddos so much that it’s a treat to be with them.
I have been so fortunate in finding so many wonderful families and children to work with!

I actually have offered to take the girls I babysit on outings with my friends that I am already going to for free (they are always kid friendly things like carnivals, the zoo etc…). The parents let me! I just adore them so much.

There was a family that I have babysat for since I started babysitting at 12. Although the first child in their family who I babysat for no longer needs a babysitter, but the younger ones 5 and 9 who I have babysat since they were born. I moved away for college a little over a year ago, but when I go home for weekends I call them up and tell them to go on a date or something. I love the kids to death, and would hate to lose contact with them. The girls I watch now I would totally watch without pay too! I just love them!
