Child Care Instructions
For those of you who are visual learners, these illustrated instructions will help you differentiate between good child care and bad. Wondering how to keep a baby calm? (Hint: Booze is not part of the equation.) Want to know how to make a baby smile? It’s all here, hopefully along with your sense of humor.

I always thought these things were common sense. But maybe everyone dosen’t have common sense?

I laughed harder at these than anything…They’re HILLARIOUS

I was so close to buying the book these were in. I saw them a few years ago in a book at Barnes and Noble! Nice choice for decorating.

No, its true, not everyone has common sense!!! In fact some people who take care of babies have NO business doing so.
On the humor side- I was laughing at a couple of those signs.

I agree with Gabby.

I have to agree with Gabby, I thought these things were common sense as well. If you don’t know them then there is a strong possibility that you shouldn’t be watching children…

I laughed at these, I agree with the the other comments about comon sense. There are people out there with no common sense that have kids and that is a scary thought…

Everyone should have the common sense to see that these are clearly a joke and are quite funny at that! What book were they in?

Sorry to be a wet blanket here, but were these cartoons used with permission or simply stolen? Consider: “© 2001-2008 Sittercity, Inc. All Rights Reserved.”
I think that the fact that the advice IS “common sense” (or what a friend of mine refers to as “Extremely UNcommon and difficult to find sense”) is what makes it funny. Oh, except for the fact the in “Choosing a Babysitter” the “NO!” example looks a whole lot like me!
Oh, and claudiadabrowski, while I know “just treat the children as if they are yours” is an appealing philosophy (OK, I admit, it’s basically MY philosophy,) it is also the way I have gotten into big trouble and my friend Ellie-the-teacher-I-want-to-grow-up-to-be as well.

As a teacher, I woud like to say that this advice is more for those who have 0 experience about chiidcare. Parents all the time have choice to choose somebody with experience and to pay more, or pay less with no experience. This blog is just for them.

I think this is very bad, negative information to give out to anyone! Good things need to be taught to child care givers, not the bad. The bad is disgusting. Any parents seeing this may not trust this website for babysitters for their children, if they thought your babysitters needed such information. Yikes! Sincerely, Mrs. Diane K. Oh goodness, when I saw the first couple I immediately though, “Whoa… are they serious?” But then as I read on I realized it was meant to be funny. =)

Hilarious!!! I was in my school computer lab trying to hold back a loud outburst!!!!

I thought it was obvious it was a joke from the moment I saw them. I couldn’t stop laughing:)

I know it sounds funny and it has a great sense of humour to it but we should also not forget that we have some people who are not just ignorant but are crazy and wicked and will get frustrated at kids for the slightest thing and will result to methods you would not think of as a sane person. ie using the hose on a baby lol.:)
