Back to school, back to books, back to teachers' dirty looks. With classes starting up once again, now is the time to update your availability calendar on your Sittercity profile.

This next month is a BIG one for our site members. Parents kick their back-to-school sitter search in high gear, and there's nothing more frustrating to them than finding the perfect sitter with an out-of-date availability calendar. Do You Go Green? We Want to Hear About It!

Going green is more than just a trendy talking point on morning news programs. It's a powerful movement that we can all take part in, even in the tiniest of ways. Better yet, we can teach others ways to help reduce their own carbon footprint in the process.

That's why we want to hear from you about the green activities you do with your child charges. A few ideas:

  • Start a garden in the backyard
  • Vow to not use electricity for two hours on the job
  • Go around the neighborhood and collect cans to recycle
  • Make your own homemade bubble bath

Our top picks will appear in an upcoming blog along with links to the sitters' Sittercity profiles to give them extra exposure to parents. You may also have your idea featured in a national media pitch!
