Bio
Hello there!
My name is Tara and I would love to be your nanny. I'm a 28 year old female volunteer firefighter and nursing student who has worked extensively with children since I was 12. I have experience with newborns through 12 year olds. When I worked at a child care facility, I was in charge of 12 children - ages 2 - 5. I enjoy making lesson plans to challenge the kids to learn but also have a lot of fun. Your children are not only SAFE with me; they will have a great time.
You're wondering what sets me apart from every other name out there to watch your most precious possession -- your children.
First - I'm a firefighter. I can run into burning buildings, bring cats down from trees, give CPR to a car accident victim, and splint a broken leg on a job site. The ability to think underpressure is very useful with kids. Things change in the blink of an eye so you have to change with it. I am certified in CPR and am a certified First Responder. I've seen a lot on scene so nothing throws me off guard. Plus, firefighters are often viewed as "cool" by the young ones.
Second - I have 3 siblings which are 9, 10, and 13 years younger than myself. I was often viewed as Mom #2 by my brothers and indeed helped raise them. They are my favorite relatives and we're still very close.
Third - I have been in charge of several groups including my local church's Sunday School (3rd, 4th, 5th grades), Children's Choir (ages 5-12), and Children's Drama (ages 5-12). Often there would be at least 10 children and then upwards to 40 children. The arts are important and I've been able to teach this to "my" kids.
You should go with your instinct when choosing a nanny. Personally I would trust my children with a 28 year old female firefighter that loves to read and is majoring in nursing from PJC. You will not be disappointed if you invite me to meet your children and care for them. Your kids will have a great time!
*Pay is negotiable depending on the number of children and ages of children to be watched.*
