Child Care Provider - BRIDGET M. (User #10617)

Since I became a young adult I have enjoyed working with and being around children. At a younger age of 15 I worked tutoring younger peers and serving as a mentor by providing a positive environment and role model. Currently I am employed with Edgewood Center for Children and Families, a non-profit foster/kinship support network. My job includes the duties of recreational staff and homework tutor. Seeing these kids between 3-5 days a week has also allowed me to become their mentor and a person they count on for support. Many of the children come from foster/kinship homes and face living life with born addictions to drugs, parents in jail, homelessness, and many other issues we help them go through. I also volunteer with the NCCIR, a non-profit, by providing childcare during meetings and working with a group of children in various activities including arts & crafts and political involvement. My experience has allowed me to work with children from all ages, backgrounds, social and economic status. I am also spanish/english bilingual, and a student at City College of San Francisco.
