Bio
Hi, I live in Klahanie's Sundance Community on the Sammamish Plateau. I like children a lot, have a space available for one to two (maximum due to space) children to be sat for and am avail for overnights if needed for one child that can sleep in a twin bed at a time. I do have a full crib for infants napping and/or overnight (baby tested and approved!). I've had fostercare/CPR/security clearance, first aid training, etc for childcare. My availability is flexible and I work from my home. The other days I have few random other appointments for babysitting but nothing definite at this point. I have plenty of experience with kids and will be happy to entertain questions, meet with your family here at my home, etc to help you make your decision. I am flexible with my time while I'm out of school right now. My top priority as a sitter is the comfort of your child. I am extremely creative, sensitive and capable of making educated choices for your child with your parenting goals in mind. I will answer any questions if you just want to email me: xxxx@xxxx.xxx
My experience ranges from newborns complete with umbilical cords healing and circumcisions healing to teething babies, walkers/toddlers, preschoolers and early grade schoolers. The oldest I've sat for is an 11 yr old boy but mostly have experience with babies, toddlers and preschoolers. I am confident currently with both cloth and disposable diapers (you take home the cloth diapers to wash please) and the joys of new teeth coming in or baby teeth falling out (and the tooth fairy!).
With my recent experience, I am well versed in drooling babies, crying, preschooler issues and have creatively soothed many wee ones to sleep with various methods from reading to the older ones to rocking a little one. I have a high chair for feedings and some baby gear. If you want to bring special items, I'd encourage it, such as a comfort blankie, bear or special toy that makes a baby/child more secure or comfortable. I'm open to new tricks of the childcare trade and over time have learned an immense amount by experience.
Please feel free to contact me if interested and I will be happy to entertain questions or make an appt to meet with you and child to help you feel comfy in my home and confident in my care and experience. I can't emphasize enough that because I do not have my own children, I enjoy other people's kids and babies, and work hard to make it a very positive experience while the child is in my care.
One thing that's limited is that we have one car in my family so I don't always have a car available. If I have an overnight sitting or all day, I might arrange to take the car to enable myself to be portable for both emergency purposes and fun reasons such as a sunny day trip to the parks in Klahanie.
Thanks for checking out my introduction!
Sincerely,
Amy T.
