Bio

My name is Judith and I am a student of Anthropology at Portland State University. I have worked in a number of settings with and around children, including time as a nanny, a student-teacher, camp counselor, and many years of babysitting. I am the eldest of three children, my two younger brothers are 6 and 8 years younger than I am, so I spent a great deal of my childhood helping raise them while my parents were at work. I've also been a housekeeper and as a nanny prepared meals and took care of laundry and other household needs.

I love to be outdoors and engage with nature. I love rock climbing and yoga and riding my bicycle, which I use as my main mode of transportation (though I have a very lovely car, as well). I love animals, especially cats, and have three cats at my house that I love to play with.  I enjoy the farmer's market, gardening, and learning about innovative and more earth friendly ways of accomplishing practical tasks.

I am very hard working and project-oriented; I always have something going on at home whether it be digging in the garden, canning pickles, or sewing patches on my pants.

I am full of energy and ready to share it.

4 Years as a Babysitter
I have experiencing babysitting in many contexts. When I was in high school I babysat for all of my parents friends and acquaintances with children as young as 1 to as old as 13, and later in college I worked at a summer camp with children ages 8-15.
0 Years as a Nanny
I worked for about six months as a nanny for a family with a five year old little boy. I fixed meals for the family and for the child. After school, we played outside or with trains, puzzles and Legos. We were avid readers and loved to play pretend.
