Jackie R. - Sleepy Hollow Babysitter

I've been working with children since my first babysitting job in 8th grade, where I watched three children while their Mother worked out of their basement. From there, I went on to babysit throughout high school for local families, and cousins. During my high school experience I was also a part of the competitive women's swimming team and varisty women's soccer team. After graduating high school, I extended my swimming career at Millikin, and played intramural soccer for fun. I also took on the job of nannying three children all under the age of seven during my sophmore, junior, and senior year at school. During that time, I picked the youngest child up from preschool, got the other two children of the bus and didn't leave until dinner was served. I took care of getting the children's homework done, and making sure they were ready for school the next day. I also have spent weekends watching the kids, while their parents went out of town. At that point I would come on a Friday and spend the night until they got home Sunday afternoon. I love being active, and find that to be an advantage when working with children. My senior year of high school I had an internship with a 4th grade classroom, in which at that point I decided I wanted to become a teacher. I enrolled at Millikin University right after college in 2005 and began taking Early Childhood Classes. My degree allows me to work with children with special needs birth through age five, and it also allows me to teach pre-school through third grade
