Child Care Provider - LINDSAY B. (User #23080)

I have had almost eight years of child care experience. Not only have I been able to shine in my work during many good times, I have also had some experience with emergencies (extreme sickness, threats to physical or emotional safety, storms etc) in which I have responded clearly and effectively without panicking. I have a deep love and respect for children and want to care for them in the best way that I can. I stress a fun, loving, polite, and supportive environment where safety is also respected. My own personal motto while working is to be childlike but not childish. This has enabled me to develop incredible bonds with the children I have worked with because I am not condescending; I meet them on their level while keeping in mind my responsibilities and duties. I also know a variety of fun activities including crafts, drama improv, outside games, and mini-science experiments that I have learned over the years while working with children. In addition to taking care of the children, I am also able to do other household work for the family. I know how to cook and prepare simple meals. I have done cleaning in the past such as vacuuming, dusting, and helping to clean the children’s rooms. I can also do the laundry and dishes. The only restriction I have is I cannot be with a family who smokes because I am allergic to smoke. Over the summer, I could only work evenings (depending on the location, time varies) and weekends because I will be working full time as a live in nanny for a family in Millis, MA. I would prefer to work with a family close to Millis, but I am willing to commute via commuter rail/subway to Boston if I find a family I'm comfortable with.
