Babysitter - ELIZABETH V. (User #2684)

I am allergic to cigarette smoke, so I cannot sit in an home in which a smoker lives. I have taken an introductory American Sign Language course, so I am not a translator, but I am proficient enough to communicate with a child or adult who uses American Sign Language. I have had CPR training (I worked as a life guard and am a proficient swimmer), but am currently not certified (my certification ran out January 2001). I enjoy baby-sitting infants (under a year), and have been baby sitting since I was 12 years old. I have two younger siblings, one of which is 8 years younger than me, so I am quite used to being around children, and I enjoy it. I am not a lenient sitter, but I would never strike a child. Children are expected to stick to the house rules, no exceptions, and I feel comfortable using whatever punishment is usual for the household (timeouts, restricted privileges), but as I stated before, I will not strike a child.
