 Hi my name is Amanda!  I moved to San Diego about a year ago from Boston, MA .  Right now I work full time for a online TextBook company called <WEBSITE> as a secretary/customer support manager.  I'm looking for a little more hours on the weekdays and weekends.    I really miss working with children and want to atleast get a few hours in a week ! I dont mind being on call and being called last minute for emergencies.

I was working as a nanny full time for the summer in DC with a family.   I loved living outside of boston so much that i wanted to try living in another place for longer, i have friends here and have always loved San Diego.  I attended UMASS Boston as a Psychology major minoring in Education.

I'm a very outgoing and friendly person.  I love children they are my weakness and i have been told i have a special gift when it comes to taking care of them.  I love doing activities with the children such as sports, arts and crafts, going to the playground, going to the library, going to musuems and zoos.  I see babysitting as more than taking care of the children and watching them also as a friendship between the children and parents. 

Last Summer i did 45 hours a week with a 5 year old girl in Boston, MA.  I spent the summer taking her to the library, pool, park, musuems, aquarium etc.  I had a wonderful time with her and wish i could still sit for her.  She is now in school full time durring the year. 

This past school year I worked 18-20 hours a week in Newton,MA with a family that has 2 little boys.  The youngest was 1 1/2 and the oldest was 3.  The majority of my time was spent with the youngest.  I had him on tuesdays and thursday for full days.  I went to the house in the morning and help get the kids ready while the parents get ready for their day.  I spent the rest of the day doing normal activites with a 1 1/2 year old.

I have worked with children since i was 13 babysitting.I have been babysitting the same family for the past 4 years part-time.  ( two kids Anna 7 and William 4)  I have been with the family since i had William in the infant room i worked at my senior year of highschool.  i have worked in daycares for the past 3 years. I worked at LINCC in lexington,MA durring highschool, working with mostly infants and toddlers. I also subsituted in other classrooms. I worked full time (35-40 hours ) 2 summers ago at BITCC in newton, MA working as a full time subsitute.

 I had my daycare certification in MA to be an assistant teacher with chirldren , but there are different things i need to take to be certified in CA! Looking forward to talking to you !
