I love spending time with my charges! I enjoy arriving at work and seeing them smile, hearing them giggle or watching them figure something out.

I am also happy to provide interim care or occasional care to families.

My philosophy on care: I follow parents’ rules regarding allowed activities, music, and children's friends etc., because I know that it's so important to be united on these issues. I use time outs and redirection for discipline.  I do not punish when a child accidentally spills something or drops their snack on the floor, because mistakes happen, they need reminding and coaching to learn. I will provide love, compassion, fun, humor, patience, stability and a positive role model to your children. I enjoy working with children of all ages!

I also think kids can and should understand the value of contributing to a family household, by doing a few chores here and there... making their bed, setting the table, and picking up their toys. Obviously I only expect age appropriate tasks. I always recogize and praise for their participation! 

I'd be happy to take your kids to soccer, swimming, a movie, mini-golf, the park, bike rides or other fun activities! I'll help with homework, do their laundry, load the dishwasher and help organize things that need it.  I'm also happy to act as a chaperon on an older child's trip or to an event like a school dance, or a movie. I have my driver’s license, a spotless driving record, have a car and I'm insured.

First Aid and child CPR certified! I've had my own background check done with RI and MA, and am happy to provide the results on request! I am approved by the state of RI to provide care to foster children! I want to help every child along in their development, and help every family succeed.  

Interests

Arts, Crafts, Sports, Swimming, Dance, Internet research. I'm a member of The Association of Professional Nannies, and spend a great deal of time participating in nanny support groups, attending workshops, volunteering, and pursuing Nanny certification.

I'm passionate about animals, nature, gardening, children and family relationships. I'm a vegetarian but respect others stance on the subject. I garden at a community garden in Olneyville, enjoy reading biographies and I love to camp and just being outside.
