It has been more than 20 years since I began babysitting. From the time I was 13 years old, I was providing childcare to families with multiple children from ages 8 months to seven years old.
Now, I am a 37 year old mother to a happy, healthy, & bright 8 year old little girl. I was very fortunate to be a stay-at-home parent. Until recently, I home-schooled my daughter. As a homeschooler, learning through play is what I am all about, and I am certain that is why my child was an eager & early learner. She is advanced in reading, mathematics, and writing skills.
After earning 220 undergrad credits in Accounting, Business, Life Science, my patient & nurturing disposition lead me into the field of Human Services. I worked as a Direct Care Counselor teaching MR & Down's individuals daily living skill. I also provided personal care (PCA) and overnight supervision. A large component of my job was observing and documenting any physical symptoms or changes in the client’s behavior or health. I completed several Special Needs classes through that employer.
I have a Spotless CORI & Driving Record
I am currently: AED/CPR/1st Aid Certified for Infant, Children, & Adults
Knowledge of care for those with Non-Verbal Learning Disability (NLD) and Asperger's Syndrome
Knowledge of Glatt Kosher & Vegan practices
Written references & notarized CORI available at interview
As a mature, mother, I am capable and confident working as a Newborn Specialist. I have personally gone through every “first-time parent worry", so you can rely on my knowledge. I have first-hand experience in feedings, bathing, and developmentally appropriate activities. I provide childcare with respect and a "mother's love", which every child deserves.
Thank you, I look forward to the opportunity to work with your family.
