Bio
Hello!
To let you know a little bit about myself, I'm 25 years old and I have extensive experience with children of all ages and really love being around and taking care of kids. I have a degree in musical theatre, and in addition to sitting/nannying, I have taught acting, musical theatre, and dance classes (pre-K-middle school).
This summer, I returned to school to begin working towards a nursing degree and am looking for some part-time work to supplement the hours I already have. I also have done some coursework in child development and child psychology.
As for my childcare experience, I am currently working part-time for a family with an infant daughter. Previously, I spent 3 1/2 years working for a family with 3 kids (ages 4, 6, and 9), two of whom are special needs foster children and have developmental delays and behavioral issues. I also have additional nannying experience (with toddlers and newborns), was a counselor at a summer camp for children with high-functioning Autism and Aspergers Syndrome (ages 8-18), and previously volunteered in the U of C Children's Hospital working with the infant/toddler playroom groups.
Although safety is (obviously) my main priority, I strive to create a fun, creative, loving, and nurturing environment in which kids can grow. I love that I have fun at work every day and get paid to play!
Good luck in your search,
Lauren
