I was a teacher for 20 years and have been a full time nanny and tutor for the last 9 years. I have worked with children that have been diagnosed with a form of Autism in addition to taking care of a 4 pound preemie that was colicky and had special medical needs. I have experience tutoring children with A.D.H.D and have worked with very active 16 month old twins. With my background experience, there is no challenging situation that I cannot master. I am registered with some of the top nanny agencies in San Diego and Orange County. They have performed a full extensive background check and I am registered with Trustline and Live Scan. I am also C.P.R. and First Aid certified and have been for the last 25 years. Most agencies charge an entire's month salary for top quality nannies. I am looking for a full or part time position with the right family. I have been working with several families that have found me through this site and through referrals. An added note.........Children have always been my number one passion in life. I enjoy presenting them with new, fun and challenging activities. I truly enjoy watching their faces light up when they have finally mastered that difficult task that they have been working on. They have a way of brightening your day when everything else seems to be going wrong. I have been working with children since I was 15 years old. I honestly cannot imagine doing anything else as a profession.

Laura is great! She is very sweet, helpful, gentle, but also disciplined and determined. She knows what she is doing and can handle any situation with your child. She cares for kids very much, and is very sensible of their needs, and loving. She can also be strict, but at the same time very fair, when needed. Being a single mom, I love the fact that Laura can share her years of experience and knowledge with me, and gives me tips when I have troubles with my two year old who is acting up his terrible two's at times. He is a sweet boy though, and adores Laura. He loves that she takes him to the park, plays with him and reads to him etc. But he also knows that he can't get away with his little tricks when she is around, and therefore, also respects her a lot. Laura is EXCELLENT!! She is a literally a miracle worker with getting our 6 year old son to work on reading and math, who would do ANYTHING to avoid doing his homework. She is very disciplined, yet very kind, sweet, and gentle. She has been our son's regular tutor for a few months now (and still ongoing for as long as we can have her). She also occasionally babysits both of our children (6 yo and 6 month old infant) when we want a night out.
