Bio
I adore kids and through my education as a psychology major, I am able to care for them in a more informed, knowledgable manner due to my in-depth and specialized studies (such as developmental psychology). I like helping kids by making the experience very personalized to them, through activities that are not only a blast for the kid(s), but also educational as often as possible. To see children when they are proud of themselves for being able to do something is such a joy of mine, and if I can facilitate that, I am always thrilled at the chance.
It also really interests me, and has resulted in great experiences in the past, to work with and spend time with kids who are dealing with mental/emotional disorders or disabilities (ex: autistic children, or those with learning disabilities). I would definitely love to spend time with anyone though. :)
Those of you looking at my profile for information about pet/house sitting, I will explain my interest in these areas, and my past experience. I have always loved animals of any kind, and grew up in a family that had dogs, a bird, cats, cameleons, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, etc. We were a foster home for the Animal Humane Society & would often be given a mother cat and her newborn kittens to care for until they were big enough to be sold at the Humane Society. I have housesat for many people, done housework, and would love to be of some help to you as well!
Prices I ask (which may be negotiated based on each particular job):
- Babysitting/Nanny (includes newborns): 1-2 kids $12/hr, 3-5 kids: $14/hr 5+ kids: negotiable
- Sick children (includes newborns): 1-2 kids: $12/hr, 2+: negotiable
- ***NOTE: if an overnight stay is needed, we can negotiate based on the amount of time I would need to stay after their bedtime***
- Travel: varies depending on the circumstances & particular needs of the family & child(ren)
- Housesitting: $40/day (which may include pet care & light housework) - negotiable based on what is needed
- Petsitting: $30/day (preferrably not huge dogs such as Saint Bernards, etc. since I am usually smaller than them :), but I am willing to care for them as well if the pay is raised in this situation - negotiable)
