Child Care Provider and Nanny - ERIN L. (User #41291)

• User Response: This family was difficult from day one. They were unwilling to pay a sitter an average rate, and told me I would be put on probation for 6 months. I expected things to get better, but they always were difficult individuals to talk to or generally be around. They would call 10 plus times a day to find out what we were doing at that moment. If we did not answer on the first ring, they would call back repeatedly. Any excursions outside of the house were completely banned and we were basically confined to the house at all times. As for the phone bills, that is completely false. I asked at one point to use their phone to call my mom and sister since my cell did not work in their house. Then I find out later they went and then called and harassed anyone I had contacted within those four months (My family was quite concerned). As for the towels I admit I used them to clean up, but I guess I had used the "wrong towels". The children did not feel the need to respect me, and would constantly scream and yell at me if they didn't get their way even though I was following their mother's rules. There were numerous times the parents would come home and yell at me as if I was one of their children. Instead of treating me like an adult and discussing any problems or concerns, they would get angry and call me at any hour to accuse me of ridiculous things. I no longer felt safe around these people, and had left days before she claims she fired me. Use caution if you work for them, I was not the first or last to leave this family. As for myself please check out my other reviews and I will be happy to refer you to other families who I care very much about and have great respect for. I have worked for many families over the last 6 years(besides those who commented below), and will vouch for my excellent childcare style and discount these vicious comments above. Thank you.
