Bio
I am a current Live-In Household Manager/Nanny looking for position starting in May/August. Current family will be moving to England. I work morning hours (dropping baby off at day care), afternoons for dinner prep/errands and evenings (dinner/bedtime), as well as during the weekends with feedings/naps as well as errands. So my responsibilities are all errands (grocery shopping, dry cleaning drop off/pick up, supply shopping, sorting receipts and mail, gift wrapping for birthday parties, etc.), meal preparations (breakfast/lunch/dinner), as well as baby preparations (meals, bottles, supplies, keeping everything clean and efficient). Helps make household extremely efficient and allows for parents to have time to play with the baby versus doing errands for the baby and having to set him to play by himself. Total hours per week: 35-40, in exchange for private room, meals, laundry, wifi & cable. Please shoot me an email if this sounds of interest.
Hi there! My name is Elizabeth and I am a 20 year old woman, rising third year at Simmons College. I love reading through others ads and how it's usually all about what I do or how I am qualified in this. What about how I will provide necessary and deserved quality childcare for your family?
After mothers helpering for a neighbor and her toddler when I was 10, I continued to work in childcare. The experience has landed me in a number of different situations (working with children with special needs, multiples, emotional problems, life-transitions, and other different situations) that allow me to have a well-rounded knowledge of childcare.
Due to the fact that I have already taught in different classrooms, tutored and taken several Psychology and Education courses here at Simmons, I have the educated background and first-hand experience to be able to tutor and care for children with special needs, ranging from Autism to ADHD.
Should anything happen concerning your childrens health, I am Infant/Child CPR/First Aid certified, my mother is also a registered nurse, and many of my close friends are nursing students. This allows me to have endless medical resources at my disposal, not just ones that you have provided me with, in case anything happens. I am also a very avid healthy cooker. I love cooking well-balanced meals, and can cook anything (including baby food).
I will also be living with three other nannies, who are available in case of a need for extra help, a conflict in schedules, or last minute problem. We have a pool at our apartment building that I will be able to take your children to should they not have access to a pool. I have taught children to swim before, so don't worry, they'll be swimming like fish before the end of the season!
Should you want me to drive your children around, I have a clean driving record, and have had my license for the past 3 years. Previously, I have driven any number of children (varying ages), in my own car and others vehicles.
I am also fluent in French, having studied the romance language through middle and high school, and now currently a little in college.
I am an Elementary Education/Psychology Major with a Minor in Early Childhood Education. I am in the Dunn Scholars Program (5-Year Masters/Licensing Program) at Simmons College. This program allows me to learn more and more about the field of Education as well as Childcare. I have used a lot of the knowledge I have retained from my classes in Childcare settings.
With all this said, I am looking for a position with a family that will keep me on my feet. Nothing is worse than to be working for a family and feel unneeded or unchallenged. I want to be working with a family that will benefit from my knowledge and experience, as well as challenge me to learn more. This summer, I hope to keep the children I work for busy, entertained, happy, and enthused, as well as learning from daily experiences and benefiting from my knowledge and education. I am the type of student and employee that works hard, is motivated, punctual and understanding. I do not wish to take over your household or change disciplines or routines, but rather I hope to be a resource for your family.
