My name is Elizabeth Horton and I am a recent graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, MD, where I received a degree in Voice and Music Education. I am currently living in Charlotte, NC, while I am in school for Broadcast Journalism. I just moved here from New York City, although I was born and raised in High Point, NC. In New York City, I worked for a corporate event production company, where I was the Office Manager, Intern Manager and an events production assistant. If you are planning a birthday party or need any help with events of any kind, I'm your gal!! I am able to work weekends and nights after 5 pm. In addition, many Fridays I don't have class, so I can watch some on Friday's. I have quite a bit of experience in childcare, including babysitting infants, toddlers and older children. In addition, I have experience working with a child with autism for 2 years, where I was not only a babysitter, but a therapist as well. In 2006, I was crowned Miss North Carolina, and became an ambassador to the Miss America Organization. I was surrounded by young girls for an entire year. While studying at Johns Hopkins, I was a student teacher at an elementary school in Maryland, where I had the opportunity to teach general music to children ages K-5, and choral music to high schoolers. I promise you I am very much in touch with kids and what they consider to be “fun”. Most importantly, I am used to being a role model and am proud to encourage youth to make healthy choices.
