Bio
Hi! My name is Sarah, I am 24 years old and I am currently studying Culinary Management at the Art Institute of California in Sacramento. I am a very active, artistic, and outgoing person and enjoy spending time outdoors, cooking, reading and volunteering. I also love arts and crafts projects and growing my own lettuce and herb garden :)

My favorite things to do with the kids I sit for is run around outside making up our own games, setting up crafty projects, reading with them, and trying new and creative ways to get them to eat their vegetables! I don't rely on the television to keep the kids occupied and prefer to actively play and do activities with them. I consider myself to be a fun, hands-on and active babysitter, but I also keep safety and the rules of each individual family a top priority. I always ensure that any schedule or routine is followed, the house is clean and tidy before the parents get home, and most of all, that the kids enjoy themselves so I can see them again and again!

As for experience working with children, I have cared for children ranging ages from 6 months to 12 years old for more than 5 years total experience. I worked with one family in particular for more than 4 years caring for their 4 children (starting ages 6 months to 7 years). I am also certified by the Red Cross in Infant, Toddler and Adult CPR/AED and ServSafe Food Safety certified by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. In high school I volunteered as a camp counselor at the Woodleaf Outdoor School and also volunteered time to tutor 4th and 5th graders in an after school science program called Discovery Zone.

After high school, I served for 5 years as a Spanish linguist in the Military Intelligence branch of the US Army and was stationed in San Antonio, Texas. While in the military I held a TOP SECRET//SCI security clearance which requires an extensive background check and lie detection test to be completed and passed. Each year I was in the military, I also was certified for basic first aid (dealing with broken bones, cuts, open wounds, shock, etc.) sanitation and safety. Before moving back to California, I spent most of my free time volunteering for the San Antonio SPCA working with the staff to care for the animals at the facility.

I would love to hear more about your family and would love to answer any additional questions you may have. So please email me anytime!

NOTE: I am currently a full-time student and as such, will be unable to work in a full-time babysitting or nanny position. I have updated the availability schedule with the times I am in class, etc. If this works with your schedule, please feel free to contact me so we can arrange an interview, otherwise, I don't have any flexibility with those hours until the quarter ends and I get a new schedule of classes. Thank you!
