Bio
Hello, and thank you for looking at my profile. =)
I am currently available weeknights after 6pm and weekends. If you are in need of a babysitter so you can have a night out with your significant other/family/friends or have a wedding or other special event, I'm the perfect sitter for you! I have many wonderful references I can provide to you upon request.
About me:
I have been babysitting since I was 13/14 years old and truly love children. Throughout my life I have babysat for many families and have been a volunteer and camp leader.
- I was a member of the Girl Scouts of America for 15 years and was also a scout leader in Palisades Park, NJ. I was the youngest leader at the time, as there was a shortage of volunteer mothers.
- I was a camp counselor at Apples Farm Arts and Music Camp in Elmer, NJ when I was in High School.
- I worked for the Palisades Park Swim Pool and assisted many of the childrens activities.
- While in college I worked at a daycare center in Edgewater, NJ and was head teacher of the infant/todler room.
- I went to college for Classical Voice and have worked with children within the arts.
- I have experience with Autistic children as I have a niece who is autistic and a nephew that is mildly autistic.
- I am currently learning sign language so that I can communicate with my niece.
- I am the second oldest out of 12 cousins [more like siblings] and have a large Italian family where I've changed many diapers in my years as well as I am now happy to say that I have 5 beautiful nieces and 1 amazing nephew that keep me in full practice these days.
- I currently on occasion volunteer for Shelter our Sisters.
My philosophy when caring and sitting for my clients children:
- I will not sit your child in front of the television.
- I enjoy reading to and with young children.
- I love to do art crafts and projects.
- I can assist with basic homework and/or supervise homework sessions.
- I will play educational and fun board games.
- I love to take the children to parks or for walks.
- I truly enjoy playing with children on their level and have a great imagination. Dress up/action figures/cars/barbies - you name it!
- Preparing light meals and snacks.
- I will always keep your child clean, safe and assist with keeping a proper schedule for feedings/changes and nap/bedtimes.
Please note:
I am quite flexable with my time and hours for weeknights and weekends. I ask that the families I meet here on Sittercity be the same with me. I will always try to help anyone out in a pinch as long as I can do so.
I also require at least $15 per hour for 3 or more children.
I am not a smoker myself but I do live in a smoking household and my better half smokes in our car - therefore, I currently do not offer my services to drive the children unless I meet a family that does not have an issue with the smell of smoke in the car.
