Bio
Kids have always been a big part of my life. My mother has been running a child care out of our home since I was little and growing up in that environment I had to either love kids, or hate them in the end. I love them! I work two days a week as a secrtary at a fire sprinkler company. I don't have a car during the day, but most nights I would.
Her is an example of a day with... just about any age children (except under age 1 where the schedule is less straight forward)
Breakfast(unless already ate): Cereal/oatmeal with milk and fruit; toast/bagel/waffle etc. with milk and fruit; eggs w/ sausage or bacon possibly or cheese with milk and fruit
Some kind of organized learning time: read a book and do related activities; games with letters or numbers; etc...
Morning snack: fruit and milk, crackers and cheese, something simple and healthy
Playtime: maybe organized games, maybe not
Lunch: something simple and easy to make, always have 2 veggies, 2 fruits, or one of each and have milk
Nap/rest time: The younger child would go for a nap and the older would watch a movie, play a quiet game on their own or with me, read book(s). Have quiet time to just relax for a little while.
Afternoon Snack: Once in a while cookies for a treat, usually something simple and healthy like the earlier snack
More playtime!
Dinner: similar to lunch
Quieter playtime: something that won't get the kids wound up again
Bedtime: go through regular bedtime routine for the children as dictated by parents.
As much as possible I will get the kids outside. I think it is good for kids to be able to run and scream and play the way they want to.
My rules are probably the same as most parents:
No running in the house, wash hands before eating and after coming inside, no playing with sticks outside, unless they are like, pencil/crayon sized and they want to draw in the dirt or something, No hitting, no yelling inside, etc....
I try to let kids work out their problems without my stepping in. I think it helps them mature faster. I will step in if things are getting bad enough to.
So, I think that's it. Thanks for considering me!
