Bio
Experienced mother & grandmother loves to care for infants and/or toddlers! I’m a mother of two grown children (adopted in infancy) & grandmother of a 3-yr.-old girl, who I’ve cared for regularly since birth. Currently retired as a regional historian for the National Park Service, I have a graduate degree as well as years of teaching experience. At grade school level, I’ve taught art enrichment classes, as well as history, science and natural history in several museums. Fit and physically active, I love both indoor and outdoor play activities that stimulate a child’s imagination and learning. I have special interest in music (both instrumental and vocal), puppetry, and interactive reading. CPR/1st Aid certified. At present, I am caring for an infant boy(9 mos.) 25 hrs. per week; I am still available for limited daytime hours, as well as for some evenings, weekends or overnights. My rates are $10-20 an hr., depending on whether I sit at my house or yours, as well as age and number of children. I prefer to work in the NW Denver area.

Reviews:
Kathy is an outstanding nanny, and we hope we never lose her. She has been caring for our son, Parker, since he was 8 weeks old. He is now 8 1/2 months old and gets a big smile, bounces and flaps his arms (his way of showing excitement) every morning when I take him to her house.
With our son:
She plays with him, sings to him, has a variety of toys, takes long walks, takes him to classes at the library and more.
With us (the parents):
As a first time mother (and my husband, a first time father) daycare was a scary thing. Leaving your newborn with a 'stranger'. One of the many great things that Kathy does is give you a little summary of the day. We did this, did that, he ate this, etc. Some of you may not like that, but I personally find it to be a huge comfort (communication is vital in childcare). She is always aware of your needs as a parent and the needs of your child. She makes certain that you are comfortable with their activities, etc.
I just can't say enough about Kathy. She's amazing, and we feel very lucky to have found her. -- Amanda B.
