Jennifer V. - Portland Babysitter

In 2003, I attended Northwest Nannies Institute, receiving my certificate in 2004.  There I learned over 300 hours of child development and completed two practicums (one as a nanny, the other in a childcare center).  Most of my experiece with children has come from working in childcare centers.  I enjoy infant to five years the most, but am always open to working with older children too. I have worked as a Toddler Teacher (18 mo-2 1/2 years), 3's and 4's Teacher, School Age Teacher (5-12 yrs, for before-school care) and worked as a substitute with infants, 2 1/2 to 3 year olds and 5 year olds.

I enjoy a more relaxed appoach with children, with lots of play time and free choice.  But, I am also able to deal with disciplinary issues, should the need arise (only by-the-book methods of course :) like redirection).
