I just would like to start off by saying that I love working with children. I enjoy watching them learn and grow into bright, happy children. For the last 8 years I have worked with the school district as an Instructional Aide with Non-Severe Special Education children with Learning Disabilities. I have also been working in a Child Development Center (before and after school day care for ages 5-10) for the last 5 years as well as a 6 to 6 program for Middle School age children. I have experience with children ages newborn through 14 years. I currently babysit for a handful of families, all on an occassional basis, but am accepting new families that work with my schedule.

I also have a 6 1/2 year old son which has been a joy to raise and is where I started off with my infant/toddler training you could say and is where I obtained most my experience in that department. I have had first hand experience with a crying infant, crabby toddler, and a child who doesn't want to go to bed. I would love to be able to bring him on any sitting job if possible, although I do not require him to come with me on the job. I just think it is a great interaction time for the children I babysit as well as for my son. As a parent, I also understand that all parents have different ways of raising their children. I have learned to respect and uphold those values and ethics when watching other parents children.

I am willing to take care of children of any age. Although, I really do enjoy the younger ones (infant, and toddlers). It's amazing how much children learn in their first few years of life. I am an extremely responsible, hardworking, and mature individual, who is willing to provide the best child care possible to any parent who seeks my services.

I do have my own reliable vehicle and have just renewed my CPR and First Aid. For a little added security, I have also been LiveScan fingerprinted through the police department, which is a requirement to work with city schools. I also am a college student working on my A.S. in Child Development and have taken all classes needed which include the 12+  Early Childhood Education units, which satisfies most center requirements to work in a preschool environment. I have a few Child Development Certificates. My base rate is typically $12/hr - $14/hr for 1 child depending on the duties, responsibilities and distance. My rates are always negotiable, but I would like you to take into consideration those factors as well as my experience with children.

I love to get the children out of the house whenever possible. I think excercise is extremely important. I would love to be able to take children places around San Diego such as parks, pools, children's museums, the zoo, etc. My son and I have passes to the RH Fleet Science Center, whch allows me to get in up to 6 additional children, as well as Sea World Passes. But, if that is not possible I also enjoy playing board games, coloring, painting, playing with toys, taking walks, using my imagination, and what ever you could possibly think of that a child would enjoy doing as long as it is safe. Safety is most important.

Ideally I am looking for a babysitting job which can be on an 'occasional' basis or one time sitting jobs. Occasional, meaning 0 to 2 or 3 times a month, mostly weekday nights and any time on weekends due to the fact that I have a daytime job typically M-F, 8am until about 5/6pm. I have all holidays off of work so I am available most holidays. If a weekday here or there is needed, I may be able to work something out. My daytime job is somewhat flexible.
